The members of APEC have joined together to raise funds to provide small grants to worthy energy projects. The goals of the APEC Energy Affiliate Fund are to: 1) increase public awareness of the importance and value of energy efficiency and 2) advance energy conservation and energy-related technology and practice.
Funds may be granted for:
1) Projects associated with energy conservation and other energy-related projects.
2) Scholarships for formal programs of training or study related to energy and energy conservation.
Grants are typically small--$1,000 or less--and awarded on an annual basis. Sample grants include:
--$1,000 for the Black Hawk College Electric-Powered Car Competition
--$1,000 for energy efficiency upgrades to a house built by Habitat for Humanity volunteers
--$1,000 for a wind energy workshop for science teachers working for the Erie, Illinois school district
All applications must be made using the online form at this Web site and are due on October 30, 2008. To apply for a grant from the APEC Affiliate Fund click here:
