APEC Affiliate Fund

The members of APEC have joined together to raise funds to provide small grants to worthy energy projects and students.  The goals of the APEC Energy Affiliate Fund are to:

  1. Increase public awareness of the importance and value of energy efficiency
  2. Advance energy conservation and energy-related technology and practice

Funds may be granted for either:

  1. Projects associated with energy conservation and other energy-related projects
  2. Scholarships for formal programs of training or study related to energy and energy conservation

Grants are typically small--$1,000 or less--and awarded on an annual basis.

No portion of the grants may be used for indirect costs or overhead.  100% of the grant must go to the student as a scholarship award or toward direct project costs.

Sample grants include:

  • $1,000 for the Black Hawk College Electric-Powered Car Competition

  • $1,000 for energy efficiency upgrades to a house built by Habitat for Humanity volunteers

  • $1,000 for a wind energy workshop for science teachers working for the Erie, Illinois school district

To apply for a grant from the APEC Affiliate Fund, fill out and submit this online form.

The application deadline has been extended past October 30, 2008.
